Run Blue Announced as Westbrook Racing’s Official Sustainability Partner

Monaco, July 28, 2024 – Westbrook Racing, a leading E1 team owned by the iconic actor Will Smith, is proud to announce its new partnership with Run Blue, a global campaign dedicated to solving the world’s water crisis. This collaboration marks the beginning of a powerful alliance committed to sustainability, innovation, and raising awareness about critical environmental issues.

Run Blue was founded by Mina Guli, a globally renowned water advocate and ultra-runner with an extensive background in law, finance, and climate change, who has dedicated her life to tackling the world’s worsening water crisis.

Run Blue’s impactful campaigns have inspired millions, mobilised the largest grassroots movement for water in history, and focused global attention on the challenges of water scarcity, flooding, and pollution — all of which are exacerbated by the climate crisis. These campaigns include Mina running 200 marathons across 32 countries in 1 year for water, as well as becoming the first person to run the entire 800km-length of the Seine River earlier this month.

“This new partnership between Run Blue and Westbrook Racing will turbocharge efforts to raise awareness about the world’s water crisis and drive real action to solve it,” said Yan Lefort, Commercial & Marketing Director at Westbook Racing. “By combining Westbrook Racing’s global platform and commitment to sustainability with Run Blue’s mass movement and influence, we can help to steer a new course towards a more resilient and sustainable future.”

The partnership between Run Blue and Westbrook Racing aims to leverage the high-profile racing platform to support water protection efforts globally. This collaboration will focus on providing visibility, networking opportunities, fundraising activities, and event collaboration to advance the Run Blue mission. The Run Blue logo will be prominently displayed on Westbrook Racing’s boat starting from Monaco 2024, and on both the boat and team kit in 2025.

"Our future depends on protecting and restoring our water bodies - the rivers, lakes, wetlands and coastal ecosystems we all depend on for our water, food, energy - and life!" said Mina Guli, Founder of Run Blue, who is attending the event in Monaco. "Westbrook Racing and Run Blue are both committed to driving change: together we can inspire the action our planet needs to tackle the water crisis and win the race towards a resilient and sustainable future for all."

Through Run Blue, Mina has shared stories from the frontlines of the water crisis at international forums, including UN Climate COPs. Run Blue’s campaigns have inspired people to participate in over 200 countries and territories, reaching millions more through media and social media, and earning her recognition as one of Fortune Magazine's 50 greatest leaders in the world. Mina and the Run Blue team are now preparing for the World River Run - their ambitious campaign to restore rivers around the world by running thousands of kilometres along 20 rivers in 2 years.
