World Water Run ‘23

The world unites for water ahead of the UN Water Conference.

For the final activation for this phase of Run Blue – and the finish of Mina’s 200th marathon – the goals were to ensure global participation and to drive as much attention and momentum ahead of the UN Water Conference.

With participants from 202 countries and territories and from diverse communities, schools and companies, as well as key opinion leaders – including Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola – the activation truly brought the world together for water.

In addition to the virtual, global run, we focused on in-person mobilisations working together with Running Water Heroes and other interested participants. More than 25 global in-person runs took place, including 1,180 participants from Delhi Private School, and Pakistan Road Runners, who covered a distance of 500 km from the Afghanistan Torkham border to the India Waga Border.
