Running for Water, Running for Change
In 2024, the World Water Run continued its mission to raise awareness for Sustainable Development Goal No. 6: clean water and sanitation for all. This year, we ran a collective 247,444 km (153,754 miles)—the equivalent of running around the world six times—uniting participants from 146 countries in a global effort to combat the worsening water crisis.
The global water crisis remains one of the most pressing challenges of our time, threatening food security, environmental health, and climate stability. The World Water Run is a call to action, inviting individuals worldwide to step up and make a difference. Every stride taken in this virtual event symbolised a commitment to securing a future where water is accessible to all, and peace and security are a reality.
With 13,244 participants joining the movement, the 2024 World Water Run demonstrated the incredible power of collective action.
